Government retakes Malakal, IDPs in UN camp left in a ‘Black Mood’

As the entire community is in a black mood, children are not an axception

Malakal – The government forces have, again, made their way into the city of Malakal with 3 late night bullets shot in the air putting the opposition forces on run.

 

The IDPs in Malakal, upon hearing that the government is back in the town, inters in a black mood since morning as their movement is set to a compulsory restriction by the government forces who, according to the IDPs, are ant-civilians forces.

 

“We are just wondering how the life will again be after we enjoyed freedom for few days when the Opposition forces were in town; we could go for firewood, fishing and collecting some vegetables around Malakal”  a 32 years old mother of four was quoted saying

 

Northern Malakal town have witnessed continued fighting between the opposition forces and the government troops contesting for the control of the strategic, but devastated, city of Malakal.

 

According to some several sources, the opposition forces are said to have retween some kilometters south of Malakal town with other left ‘up’ in some corridors around Akoka County.
